Intel CEO: Windows 8 tablets 'being queued up' for production

Intel CEO Paul Otellini hinted that Windows 8 tablet  production may not be that far off, while asserting that  Android  tablets won't be able to compete against the  iPad  until Ice Cream Sandwich becomes more widespread. In an earnings conference call  after the chip giant posted better than expected earnings today , Otellini said Android-based tablets don't have what it takes to compete against the iPad--yet. "Tablets are a little bit about hardware and an awful lot about software," he said. "Until you get to Ice Cream Sandwich, the offering isn't as powerful as with what's out there with Apple. As Ice Cream Sandwich tablets start shipping, you'll begin to see a little bit better receptivity...everything got a little bit better with ICS," he said, referring to Android 4.0. Then he made an interesting comment about Windows 8 tablets and production schedules. "The other part of that test [of competing with iPad] of course is t...

Next-gen iPhone, iPad could deliver 20 times the graphics power

Owners of upcoming  iPhone  and iPads could enjoy a boost in graphics power 20 times greater than that offered by current models, according to enthusiast site  AppleInsider . Apple and Facebook have not teamed up to give away free iPads

The promise is seductive. Two of the biggest technology companies on the planet are combining forces to give their adoring fans free iPads and iPhones? Yes! And all you have to do is give up all your personal information for that chance.  That's what spam scammers are hoping you will do once you see the quasi-personal letter from everyone's favorite friend networker, Mark Zuckerberg. The e-mail will come off as somewhat legit, singling you out as a randomly selected winner of a one-time only promotional event sponsored by Facebook and Apple. So, you've already won a free  iPad  or  iPhone , but there's a catch. Mark Zuckerberg just needs your e-mail address, phone number, and other account information to confirm. And of course, the site that Zuckerberg chooses to use to acquire that information is not Facebook, but a random promotional company. Now, if the user is to click the link to claim their prize, they will be taken to a Web site that explains how they ma...
