D-Link's All-in-One Mobile Companion is a tiny networking device that offers all travelers would need in terms of connectivity and sharing data on the go.
Good thing can come in a small and cute package.
D-Link showed off today at CES 2012 a tiny mobile router that appeals to frequent travelers with tablets and mobile devices, the All-in-One Mobile Companion (mobile DIR-505).
Coming with two prongs to snap in any power outlet, the DIR-505 is about a the size of a small power adapter a regular router. It, however, offers more than just an instant wireless network. The router features a USB port that enables users to share videos, music and photos from an external hard drive or thumb drive to any iPad, iPhone or Android device.
The router comes with one Ethernet port to connect to an Internet source, such as a broadband modem or a network port of a hotel. As a wireless router, it features single stream wireless N standard (capping at 150Mbps), a Wi-Fi Protected Setup button for fast network setup and SharePort Cloud for sharing data via the Internet. When not used with an external hard drive, its USB port can also be used to charge a mobile device, such as an iPhone or iPad.
Considering its tiny size and the high level of ease on the eyes, the DIR-505 makes a good device that you want to stick somewhere inside your backpack or a car's globe compartment for use when needed. It definitely doesn't take much space at all.
D-Link says the new All-in-One Mobile Companion DIR-505 will be available in April for around $75.
As technology improves in the market, routers have also changed into something better. Industrial cellular router can also be considered since it is equipped with good specs.
